I was so invested in Emily’s life, and even though herself and Simon had built an impressive life together with a nice house and beautiful daughter, it seems there’s still a few things Emily would change, and she’s not at her happiest right now.

I have read everything Sue E-W has ever written so I knew what to expect quality-wise and I was so right – but also, she just keeps getting better and better. Emily is also concerned that Simon might be having an affair so Simon thinks Emily is just being paranoid. The authors writing is a bit of me, dark, sinister and with foreboding characters and of course Simon the dickward - hated him immensely. I love being totally absorbed in a book, and so far, this story wasn’t letting me down in the slightest!

The first person is Emily we hear a lot about her how she met her husband and got married and now have a child. This was riveting, also the stalker element was very uncomfortable but I recommend the audio as it for me adds to the story. After those few pages, I closed the book there and then for about 5 minutes to process it all and to ponder just how these events would link to the main story. It frustrated me as much as Emily that she wasn’t being taken seriously when something goes terribly wrong.

This is perfect if you’re looking for a light thriller that won’t tax your mind or your time too much. Poor Emily seemed to be gaslit by everyone around her, loved her POV when she gradually comes to the realisation that something is not right.Plus Emily’s husband was seeing someone else when they met and there are those who don’t believe leopards change their spots fuelling her insecurities. Susan Elliot Wright is the bestselling author of five novels, including the acclaimed The Flight of Cornelia Blackwood.

We’re introduced to Emily who is 5 foot 3 (my name is Emily and I’m also 5 foot 3, weird) and her husband, Simon. My previous novels have been published to glowing reviews, translated into many languages and have ranked in the Nielsen bestseller chart. If you love family drama, can’t-put-down thrillers and obsessive characters, you’ll adore this book! I’m the author of five novels so far, and have alsio written a number of non-fiction, health-related books as well as hundreds of features for magazines.

I personally felt quite a lot of sympathy for Emily as a character considering the difficulties she faces as a young mum and overworked teacher coupled with the relationship with her husband, who I felt was quite unlikeable. I wasn’t convinced the surprises were over though, and as we revisited Anna’s perspective, I still had my doubts she’d leave things alone as she once again goes to extreme lengths to get her own way. As much as I was nervous about what was to come, it was an amazing feeling – the atmosphere had been perfectly written and I instantly had some terrifying predictions for what could happen to round this story off. All You Ever Wanted is packed full of menace and danger, and deftly exposes the fragility of family life. I knew this was my kind of book as soon as I started reading, and it’s absolutely one of my top reads of the year!Whilst her marriage does appear strong and loving, she's never really forgiven herself, or her husband Simon about how their relationship began. There’s one question that will be forever on my mind after reading the ending chapter, but I quite like the fact that we’ll never know the answer.
