The difference between us was fundamental: I’d watch Combat and think, Gee, it would be fun to be an actor like that guy. If the book sucks, at least there are gobs of pictures, and they're not crammed in the middle like all those other actor books.

In this age where laser surgery rushes to correct every imperfection, I’m not going to touch that scar—it reminds me of too much fun. To defend against attacking neighbors, we armed ourselves with cracker balls, rolls of caps, sparklers, balloons, squirt guns, sling shot rifles, rubber band shooters and the dreaded Ivory Liquid detergent bottles—the Super Soaker of their day. People love Bruce Campbell, but even his most ardent fans wouldn’t hold him up as an amazing thespian. s. If the book sucks, at least there are gobs of pictures, and they're not crammed in the middle like all those other actor books.Along with Bubba Ho-Tep, he played a supporting role in Maniac Cop and Maniac Cop 2, and spoofed his career in the self-directed My Name is Bruce. Campbell produced the 2013 remake of The Evil Dead, along with Raimi and Rob Tapert, appearing in the movie's post-credits scene in a cameo role with the expectation he would reprise that role in Army of Darkness 2. This is a review of the audiobook version - The King of the Bs takes a breezey, light-hearted trip down memory lane. Of course, that wasn’t all bad, because we could round up their shredded carcasses and use them as casualties. The only downside is that this book was written well before "Burn Notice" took off and became a bit of a hit.

From growing up with legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi to working with the Coen brothers and cross-dressing on the NZ set of Hercules, Campbell's story has warmth and remains down to earth throughout. I'm not an Evil Dead fan--I think I've only seen Army of Darkness--but the story of how that first film was made wowed me. About two hours later, Brother Don, scouting for an additional vantage point, lost his footing and tumbled headfirst off a nearby cliff. He is best known for his starring role as Ash in the Evil Dead trilogy of horror/slapstick movies, and has since become a B-movie icon. While featuring as the protagonist, Campbell also participation with the production of the movie, receiving a co-executive producer credit.Mom stopped us before Nader did, though, because one day a big flaming blob of plastic sizzled its way into my finger. He is also known for his supporting role as the recurring character Autolycus ("King of Thieves") on both Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess, which reunited him with producer Rob Tapert.

It's no Lord of the Rings, but it's a must for B-movie fans everywhere and Bruce fans in particular. Once you look past the hype, actors are nothing more than fugitives from reality who specialize in contradiction: we are both children and hardened adults—wide-eyed pupils and jaded working stiffs.

It was originally published in hardcover/analog fifteen years ago, which is a vast amount of time in the evolution of books and technology, and it was time to get current. There would otherwise be no explanation for the 20¢ fine of taking something from me while I was looking at it, or the 40¢ whopper for damaging rocket controls. Really, it’s the definitive overview of the first part of Bruce Campbell’s amazing career and it’s a fun read.
